A program of the Greater Flint Health Coalition. Jan 17, 2022: I am the Project Coordinator for Health in Our Hands (HiOH), a research project through CREATE for STEM Institute at Michigan State University. HiOH connects the community to the science classroom to improve health, introduce STEM careers, and promote community well-being. Right now, Flint Holmes STEM Academy teachers are using HiOH curriculum in their classrooms to learn about critical community health issues such as diabetes and substance use disorder. Oct 14, 2019: I am the Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator for Connecting Kids to Coverage, a program of the Greater Flint Health Coalition. My role as the Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator is to provide free, one-on-one enrollment assistance to individuals who need help applying for Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the Flint Healthcare Coverage. October 2017: I created an Intro to the Spanish Language as it pertains to health curriculum October 2017 - December 2017. This curriculum was implemented January 2018 for a $1.2 million Advanced Nursing Education Work grant funded program through UM-Flint Nursing Program. UMFlint Nurse Pratictioners will have the opportunity to learn the basic spanish skills through the curriculum I created to be able to communicate with migrant workers about health in a rural community. July 2013: I withhold a Bachelor’s Degree as well as a Master’s Degree, both attained from the University of Michigan – Flint (UM-Flint) in Health Education. I have gained eight years of experience in program coordination, organization, and management since 2010. I currently work in the Center for Educator Preparation (CEP) also on the UM-Flint Campus where I work with students in the major of Education and support them through their internship and student teaching experiences.
